The Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator for health and social care inspection in England and is responsible for monitoring the standard of care provided by any relevant organisation, whether independent, local authority or other.

The remit of the CQC is to ensure the provision of high quality services and provide an expert voice on social care.

Hillbrook Grange Residential Care Home is registered and regulated by the CQC to provide accommodation for persons who require personal care. Hillbrook Grange has been awarded a "Requires improvement" CQC certification.

The Home was found to be Good in "Effective", "Caring" and "Responsive".

The Home was found to be Requiring improvement in "Safe" and "Well led".

Following the recent departure of our Registered Manager we were automatically given a "Requires improvement" mark for "Well led". The inspectors however praised the Trustees for doing everything possible to maintain the smooth running of the Home and searching for a replacement.

The same mark for "Safe" resulted from a single tube of cream being left on a resident's table. Systems are now in place to prevent a recurrence.
